Policies

Ordering

All room reservation and catering requests must be submitted through our online room and catering request gateway. Normal operating hours are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Catering is not available during scheduled holidays or employee development days.

Requests must be made seven (7) business days prior to the event. Short notice events may be accommodated based on availability. An additional charge may apply

Davis Tech Catering reserves the right to cancel or refuse an event that interferes with the education of the students in the Culinary Arts program.

Payment

External Clients:

Credit card payments are processed through our Events Coordinator. Some credit cards may incur an additional fee for processing.

Internal Clients

All internal clients of the college must submit an approved account number when requesting services. No exceptions will be allowed.

As appropriate, internal clients requesting catering services over $250 dollars will require their director/manager approval.

Cancellations

Standard catering orders may be cancelled in full up to three (3) business days prior to the event without incurring a charge.

If the event is a custom menu/function the client will be billed for any food, beverages, and/or labor that has already been incurred by Davis Tech Catering regardless of the amount of notice given.

Catering orders cancelled within 24 hours will result in the client being charged the full amount of the costs for the food and/or beverages that have been incurred.

Amendments

The Guest count guarantee is due within five (5) business days of an event. You may decrease the number of Guests until two (2) business days prior to the event. However, you will be billed according to the guarantee amount. Increases will be handled on a case-by-case basis and may not be accommodated due to short notice.

Delivery

Davis Tech Catering will deliver and set up events that are over $50 dollars. Please arrange for pick-up for orders under $50.00. Event breakdown times are not guaranteed and will be collected as time and instruction allows.

Davis Tech Catering does not deliver off campus. Delivery will occur only in the Main Building, Simmons/Northfront Building, and Barlow Building.

Supplies

All catered events with Davis Tech Catering include disposable serving tongs, cups, plates, napkins, and utensils as needed. The quantity included for these items will match the guaranteed count. If more items are needed additional costs may apply.

Fees

Service: A 10% or $25 (whichever is lesser) service fee will be applied to all events. This service fee covers all event set-up and breakdown.

Coordination: A 10% or $20 (whichever is greater) service fee will be applied to events which do not utilize Davis Tech Catering but still require event personnel to arrange and manage outside caters and event set ups.

Linen: A 2% or $5 (whichever is greater) linen fee will be applied to all events. This linen fee covers the cost for linens used solely for food and/or beverage service and does not include tablecloths or linen napkins for Guest seating areas.

Additional Linen: Tablecloths and linen napkins are available for an extra fee. The cost is $5 per tablecloth and $0.25 cents per linen napkin. Limited colors are available. For additional information please consult with the Events Coordinator.

After-Hours: A $50 or 10% (whichever is greater) service fee will be applied to events that operate outside of our normal catering hours.

Rush: A $30 or 10% (whichever is greater) service fee will be applied to events requested seven (7) business days of the event.

Discounts

Discounts are applied at the end of an event.

Discounts for room rentals or non-catered services must be approved in writing by the Director of Marketing.

Discounts related to catering must be approved in writing by the Executive Chef or Director of Service Professions.

Scope of Work

Davis Tech Catering has the first right of refusal for catering on the Davis Tech Main Campus. Any events that are on campus wishing to provide their own food must obtain approval from the Executive Chef or Director of Service Professions.

Catering is provided to on-campus clients only. Catering is contingent upon availability and instruction requirements from the Culinary Arts Program. If Davis Tech Catering is unable to fulfill your request the Events Coordinator will be able to assist you with our approved vendors to provide your catering.

Davis Tech Catering does not provide off-campus catering

Note:

Events utilizing Davis Tech Catering chaffing dishes will incur an additional $5 per chaffing dish.

Catered events do not include servers for your event. If you require servers for your event please consult with the Events Coordinator. An additional charge will apply.

If you require china, silverware, stemware, and linen napkins the charge will be $3.50 per Guest based on the guaranteed amount.

If you are exempt from Utah sales taxes you must provide us with a tax exemption certificate during the event planning process. Certificates can be emailed to events@davistech.edu If this form is not provided Utah sales taxes will be applied to your event.

All left over food and beverage will remain the property of Davis Tech Catering. Food and beverage provided by Davis Tech Catering will not be packaged for removal from Davis Tech Property. Davis Technical College will not be held liable for food or beverage removed from the premises.
